Hi, I'm John M. Speice IV - the new white guy...I'm from awesome..born in the Rio Grande valley, raised in the Red River valley.....I BEEN havin giant horn bands since back in the early days of music...such as Dallas observer favorites Whitey and Austin's own Gingerbreadmen...I toured the USA extensively with the only punk rock vibraphonist in the world, Mike Dillon in the band Hairy Apes BMX and Mike Dillons GoGo Jungle. Along the way, I've had the honor of studying Afro Cuban folklore and Bata drumming with legendary master drummers such as Regino Jiminez, Sandy Perez and Francisco Aguabella. I've also been very fortunate to share the stage, jam, or do shows with some of my heroes like George Porter jr., Zigaboo Modeliste, Maceo Parker, and Johnny Vidacovich...as well as my boys Skerik, Stanton Moore, Robert Walter and tons more. More recently, I'm in four great bands with Grupo guitarist Adrian Quesada as well being a regular contributor to many of Quesada's Level One Studio productions. It is an honor to be part of this great ensemble and continue my musical growth with these highly intellectual minds.
